In an effort to meet the increasing demands for foster homes The Children’s Aid Society of Northumberland is embarking on a campaign to augment the number of foster families within Northumberland County. Although our current foster families continue to provide excellent service to our children in care, we hope, through this campaign, to add more caring, skilled people to our list of foster families and increase the number of homes that are able to care for teen girls and boys. Increasing our foster homes will also allow us to properly match children and families when children initially come into care.

There are a number of marketing initiatives currently underway that will help us reach potential foster parents everywhere in our catchment area including radio and print campaigns and community partnerships and special events.

Please review the accompanying brochure –What is Fostering, as it will answer some of your initial questions regarding the Children Aid Society of Northumberland and the process involved in becoming a foster parent.

In addition, we hope that if you know someone who is contemplating fostering a child that you will encourage them to contact the agency and speak to an agency representative.

On behalf of the Children’s Aid Society of Northumberland and our children in care, thank you!
