EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

 

The Children’s Aid Society of Northumberland has been serving the County of Northumberland since 1895. We offer a wide range of services including amongst others, child protection, family support, foster care, pregnancy counseling, adoption services and preventive services. We seek an Executive Director who will continue to build and grow our organization; to meet our mission by working in partnership with our community; to develop and support safe and nurturing environments in which children may achieve their potential; and ensuring the highest standards of community relations, organization leadership and fiscal management.

 

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will have extensive knowledge of social issues facing the communities we serve and bring to our organization the leadership and management skills needed to contribute to and execute the strategic direction as set by the Board.

 

You demonstrate high levels of achievement in the following areas:

  • Non-profit management expertise including financial acumen and leadership
  • Knowledge of community development principles
  • Verbal and written communications
  • Strategic planning and implementation
  • Promotion and relationship building
  • Resource development
  • Team building

Required Skills and Qualifications:

You possess a Masters of Social Work designation recognized by the Ontario College of Social Workers, and a minimum of 5 years child welfare experience, 2 of which have been in directing and managing at a senior management level. Other required skills include proficiency in Microsoft applications, qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, records management and office administration. Knowledge of CWIS data management software would be an asset.

 

The anticipated starting date is January 2nd, 2009.
