The Children’s Aid Society of Northumberland is committed to finding
permanent and nurturing families for children waiting to be adopted. Children
placed for adoption may be infants, toddlers, school-aged children or
teenagers. All children need to be part of a family and adoption is a
way to achieve this.
There are many steps in the adoption process itself, all of which depend
on the needs of individual children and on court and legal processes.
If you are interested in learning more about adoption, please call the
Society at 905-372-1821.
The children in our care awaiting adoption live in foster homes until
an adoptive family is selected. These children may be on their own or
with a group of siblings. The Society believes strongly that brothers
and sisters should be placed together.
Our children may have a history of painful experiences, including abuse
and neglect. They may be faced with physical, mental and emotional challenges.
Children come in to our care for various reasons but all of them are in
need of a stable and nurturing family to grow up in.
